  • Elena Romanyuk

Head of Strategy, Planning & New Product Development,
    Management Trainee 2002-2004

British American Tobacco inspired me in no time – I remember my first job interview when applying for the Management Trainee programme. People who were interviewing me were very open, friendly and smart. I said to myself, “This is the place where I want to work.”

When I am asked about my formula of success in the career, I always say – you are as good professionally as you are good at people leadership. To have outstanding performance you need to be open-minded, listen to your team, trust them and respect their decisions.

Of course, it is not a standalone feature – you need to drive for result, deliver what you promise, never hesitate to share your ideas and always be ready to implement them.

Now after 12 years in the company I can say that I have enjoyed every moment of my life in BAT. And I like how it feels when you know your Company inside out.

  • Svetlana Blazhnova

    Head of Talent & OE,
    Management Trainee 2008-2010

I joined the Management Trainee Programme in 2008 after internship and short experience as HR specialist at BAT factory in Saratov. Being an MT is an exciting experience: I saw myself growing at huge pace through challenging objectives, with support and encouragement from my coach and mentor. The company gives MTs opportunities to make serious business decisions and participate in strategic projects together with senior managers. I'm proud to work in HR function, as BAT HR has always been known for the strong expertise, advanced knowledge and practices, and appreciated by our company for the value we bring to the business. Overall, I see BAT not just as an employer, but the place of a unique life journey. I learn a lot from working in multi-cultural open-minded teams that value my contributions and inspire to achieve outstanding results. For me and many colleagues of mine, BAT is the place that always ignites us with lots of opportunities and fun!
